Research Facilities

MECOS Cryogenic Circulators are used in He (Helium) and H2 (Hydrogen) cooling systems down to lowest temperatures of 2 Kelvin. These cooling systems are required both in particle accelerators and colliders, as well as in in experimental fusion reactors.

The MECOS designed AMB package offers customer specific rotor designs in combination with highly reliable AMB control units. This opens up new possibilities and lead to lower operational and maintenance costs due to the reduced amount of parts, and no lubrification system.

MECOS AMB technology delivers high reliability and outstanding uptime of the whole Cryogenic System leading to lower OPEX costs.

Semiconductors

MECOS frequency converter, together with MECOS AMB components are used in the advanced EUV semiconductor manufacturing process.

To efficiently convert the electrical excitation energy into laser power, high-performance lasers require gas circulation for cooling. CO2 gas is used as the cooling medium. Turbo blowers equipped with MECOS active magnetic bearings enable to spin with up to 66'000rpm and generate unique gas flow rates. Magnetic bearings do not require lubricants and thus prevent laser contamination. They are wear free and maintenance free due to the contactless operation.
